The Finance Coordinator supports day-to-day financial operations, ensures compliance with internal financial controls, and assists in reporting, audits, and cross-department collaboration. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the Finance team in achieving operational efficiency.
Collect and organize financial data from departments
Maintain updated financial records for audits
Review financial transactions for accuracy
Track and follow up on missing documentation
Assist in preparing financial and operational reports
Track actuals vs. forecasts
Contribute data for dashboards and reconciliations
Support regulatory filings
Act as a liaison between Finance and other teams
Coordinate timely submission of financial inputs
Ensure process compliance across departments
Organize audit-related records
Prepare and respond to audit documentation requests
Support internal financial policy reviews
Monitor adherence to internal financial controls
Assist with banking documentation and reconciliations
Maintain trackers, logs, and finance calendars
Perform finance-related administrative tasks
Uphold ALU’s safeguarding standards for youth and vulnerable adults
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
Minimum 3 years in a finance or accounting support role
Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
Familiarity with accounting software (advantageous)
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows
Experience preparing audit documentation
Ability to coordinate across multiple departments
Attention to detail with strong data validation skills
Prior experience in a non-profit or educational setting
