The Tech Tools Intern supports the Field Operations team by ensuring tablets and digital tools used by field staff are functional, up-to-date, and user-friendly. The role involves technical support, training, process improvement, and participation in tech innovation projects to improve services for farmers.
Tablet Support & Maintenance:
Troubleshoot issues
Track movement & ensure compliance with Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Prevent loss/misuse through tech solutions
Training & Capacity Building:
Train staff on device/app usage
Boost digital literacy for new and existing staff
Configuration & Process Improvement:
Set up tablets and accounts
Optimize tech support processes and reduce costs
Ensure device protection and configuration
Innovation & Pilot Projects:
Support digital literacy experiments
Share findings and suggest tech ideas for scaling impact
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
3 to 6 months of hands-on experience managing or supporting tech interventions
Experience training non-technical users and improving digital literacy at scale
Tablet setup and MDM configuration
Managing large-scale tech fleets
Building simple digital tools (Python, JavaScript, or low-code platforms)
Knowledge of Rwanda's geography and logistics for field tech deployments
Data handling with tools like Excel (complex sheets), Power BI, or SQL
Experience in rural tech support or field operations
Creativity and initiative in designing scalable tech solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Weekly check-ins, mentorship, and training
Regular feedback and career growth discussions
Technical skill-building and exposure to tech-enabled rural development projects
