Job Description

Job Summary

The Tech Tools Intern supports the Field Operations team by ensuring tablets and digital tools used by field staff are functional, up-to-date, and user-friendly. The role involves technical support, training, process improvement, and participation in tech innovation projects to improve services for farmers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Tablet Support & Maintenance:

    • Troubleshoot issues

    • Track movement & ensure compliance with Mobile Device Management (MDM)

    • Prevent loss/misuse through tech solutions

  • Training & Capacity Building:

    • Train staff on device/app usage

    • Boost digital literacy for new and existing staff

  • Configuration & Process Improvement:

    • Set up tablets and accounts

    • Optimize tech support processes and reduce costs

    • Ensure device protection and configuration

  • Innovation & Pilot Projects:

    • Support digital literacy experiments

    • Share findings and suggest tech ideas for scaling impact


Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field

Experience

  • 3 to 6 months of hands-on experience managing or supporting tech interventions

  • Experience training non-technical users and improving digital literacy at scale

Skills & Technical Competence

  • Tablet setup and MDM configuration

  • Managing large-scale tech fleets

  • Building simple digital tools (Python, JavaScript, or low-code platforms)

  • Knowledge of Rwanda's geography and logistics for field tech deployments

  • Data handling with tools like Excel (complex sheets), Power BI, or SQL

Good to Have / Bonus Skills

  • Experience in rural tech support or field operations

  • Creativity and initiative in designing scalable tech solutions

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
