The Student Life Manager at ALU is responsible for leading and executing all non-academic student programs to create a transformative, engaging, and inclusive student experience. The role involves strategic planning, wellness support, student governance, event coordination, financial aid oversight, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement. It’s based in Kigali and supports ALU’s mission of empowering students to lead social impact initiatives across Africa.
Lead strategy for non-academic student life activities aligned with academic goals.
Oversee wellness programs, student conduct, financial support, and governance.
Design inclusive events and programs to enhance campus life.
Lead and mentor the Student Life team.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners.
Manage vendors, budgets, and compliance with regulatory bodies.
Uphold student safeguarding and conduct protocols.
Bachelor's degree (required)
Advanced degree (preferred but not specified)
5–7 years in Student Affairs, Student Life, or a similar role.
Experience in:
Project and event planning
Leading teams
Designing student programs
Managing student governance
Strategic planning and execution
Leadership and team management
Data analysis and reporting
Financial aid processes and budget management
Excellent communication (written and verbal)
Empathy, approachability, and strong interpersonal skills
Creative problem-solving and conflict resolution
High emotional intelligence and student-centered mindset
Familiarity with safeguarding policies and youth protection standards
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth academic setting
Willingness to represent ALU at events and build community partnerships
Experience in higher education settings across Africa
Understanding of pan-African student communities
Familiarity with HEC compliance standards
Fluency in multiple languages (depending on region)
